The Low Down…

“I am not a dj, dj’n is what i do. it’s so fun!”

Let’s get that clear. My movement on this earth should never be defined under the label of a DJ. It’s something that I do purely for the joy I get from each opportunity guiding people on a sonic adventure that creatively complements an atmosphere, a brand, a lifestyle... So before we go any further, it's important to know that I am proud of where I stand as a DJ and far more proud of where I stand in my community as a man. The label of "DJ" confines me into a limited box that's then categorized on your end on what you believe a "DJ" to be. As a creative man, I embody a presence far greater than just a dude on the 1's and 2's. I strive to bring other men up around me because above all else, our world needs more men leading properly. DJ'n has become one of my ways to connect dots for the bigger picture.

Over two decades in, I’ve come to hone in on the art of this craft and really enjoy the people that book me to creatively construct a soundscape for a particular setting and cliental. I’ll bang da bass out the speakers for thousands, I’ll creatively guide a romantic setting of restaurant guests to have a memorable night, I’ll get funky with the funk souls on the ski slopes...

Put it this way, in a movie, the soundtrack enhances the setting, the mood and the story. The soundtrack is written or chosen specifically to be paired with each scene to draw the viewer in deeper. Our lives are a movie and each one of us is the main character. I like to come in with a blank canvas, feel the room and use the music as paint to... well, PAINT! Live Improvisational Soundscaping using the skills and art of DJin to create moments that last for years to come. The “you just had to be there” type of night.

Every DJ approaches this craft in a way that is unique to them. This is my approach and I am very passionate about the opportunity I have gotten and continue to get to connect with people thru music and dance for well over 20 yrs now and I do not have any plans to stop!! So with that said, let’s create some live soundtracks shall we!
